Nowadays, media hypes the matter unnecessarily and adds a different angle to it. Yes, making a hot topic into some sensational news adding some masala to it has become a common practice to reporting these days.
As we all know former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is renowned for his funny and witty takes on various trending issues and as well as an expert of framing birthday wishes. He has been unstoppable on the micro-blogging site Twitter. So everything about him has become a sensation nowadays with paparazzi’s covering all the news about him.
But a few days ago, there was a sensational buzz about him saying that Sehwag applied for the job of coach in the cricket team of India and for this, he sent merely a two-line resume.
As per The Indian Express, his resume reads that he is a ‘mentor and a coach of Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League and has played with all these (Indian) boys before’.
Popular news portal in India, The Indian Express even says that they are informed the following by a source in BCCI,
“Sehwag being Sehwag has sent his application in two lines. There was no CV attached to it. We had to ask him to send his CV too along with his application. After all it will be the first time he is set to appear for the interview.”
In the above screenshot, we can clearly see how the leading websites have reported the news with a misleading headline, almost all websites have followed the same.
So the truth is that it was a false news!Sehwag finally himself shattered down all the rumors and this is for the first time that ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’ has spoken up on the matter.
In a recent interview, when a reporter asked him about this viral news, Sehwag rubbished all the rumors and straightly denied sending any two-line resume for the so-called job.
The Nawab of Najafgarh even went on to say that his name would have been “enough” if he wanted to apply for the post with such a short resume. Sehwag added that a CV that was totally in line with the norms of BCCI was sent by him. While interacting with UCWeb, he stated,
“I would be happy to get that two line CV from the media source. If I had to send a two line resume, my name was enough.”

Sehwag also revealed about his favorite skipper of team India so far and it was undoubtedly Dada Sourav Ganguly. He also talked about how Sachin’s guidance helped him in his cricket career. In his words,
“Sourav taught me how to keep patience and is my all-time favourite captain. On the other hand, Sachin gave me confidence, broke my superstitions and playing with him was like playing with the wall, you could play without any tension and hit boundaries freely.”
