This October will be a special month for India, with the FIFA U-17 World Cup will kick-starting on the 6th. The 17th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup will come to an end on October 28th at the newly renovated and swanky Salt Lake Stadium.
The majestic Salt Lake Stadium, also known as the VYBK is Asia’s second biggest football stadium and was built to ensure more people could attend the famed derby clashes between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. As this will be the first FIFA tournament hosted by India, everyone in the country is excited about this major event.
Team India has struggled to make its mark in the sport so far and this time, it looks to use this home soil opportunity to spread football all over the country. Earlier this month, the India U-17 team came back from a four-nation tournament in South America where they played against Chile and Mexico. While India lost to Mexico, they drew 2-2 against Chile.
India has automatically qualified being the host nation and is getting huge support from the home crowd. Not only fans, sportspersons and film stars are doing their bit to cheer for the Indian team.
Hence, the organizers are running a campaign on social media which is called “Juggle Like A Champ” challenge. It was started by Badminton player PV Sindhu, who took the #JuggleLikeAChamp challenge and nominated Sonu Sood for the same.

The defending champions, Nigeria, will not be able to defend their title as they failed to reach the final round of the CAF qualifying tournament. In doing so, they became the first incumbent title holder since Switzerland in 2009 to fail to qualify for the subsequent tournament.
The FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 will take place in Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata, Navi Mumbai and New Delhi between 6 and 28 October 2017. The final will be played at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata on 28 October.
