India’s limited-overs skipper MS Dhoni achieved another milestone during the course of the third ODI match against New Zealand at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali as he completed 9000 runs in ODI cricket and created history!
The 35-year-old achieved the feat in his 281st ODI match. He is the 5th Indian cricketer to achieve this milestone, after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Azharuddin. Overall, he is the 17th player in ODI cricket to score 9000 runs, and the only one with an average over 50.
Meanwhile, Dhoni also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of the highest number of sixes by an Indian batsman in ODIs, hitting his 196 six to overtake Tendulkar’s 195 sixes.
