[WATCH] How Team India Celebrated Manish Pandey’s Birthday After Win In 2nd ODI

After losing the first ODI against the hosts by D/L method as rain interrupted the play at Chennai, Aussies were all set to fight back strongly in the 2nd ODI at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. It was the most exciting match in the 5-match ODI series.

On a two-paced wicket and in humid conditions, the Indians rolled their ODI with overwhelming force, completing another win against the Australians to maintain their lead in the 5-match ODI series. The script did not go to plan during certain passages of the game, but the Indian team assessed and adapted to the conditions better, completing a 50-run win.

Kuldeep Yadav becomes the overnight sensation after securing a hat-trick on the home ground of his IPL team. He broke many records after picking up the hat-trick. Kuldeep became the first spinner to take a hat-trick for India in ODIs, and the first spinner to take a hat-trick against Australia in ODIs.

Apart from Kuldeep’s hat-trick, it was Bhuvaneshwar Kumar who bowled exceptionally well by conceding only 9 runs in 6.1 overs and picked up 3 crucial wickets. Guess what? Despite bowling brilliantly and clinched the second ODI against Australia, the whole Indian cricket team gave a surprise to Manish Pandey.

Yes, it is Manish Pandey. He turned 28 on September 10 which is way before the series started. Thursday. Thus, the Men in Blue were in a festive mood after the win and threw a surprise birthday party for Manish Pandey, who turned 28 on September 10.

The BCCI posted a video in which Pandey can be seen celebrating with Team India and staff members. MS Dhoni grabbed Pandey from the back as he was escaping from the cake. It is too late for the rest of the teammates put the whole cake on his face. Yuzvender Chahal and Axar Patel do the job.

Pandey, who is yet to make his Test debut for India, made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2015 and since then he has played 16 matches for India. He has 350 runs to his name with a century and two half-centuries. India and Australia will play the third ODI in Indore on Sunday.
