India’s limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, continues to be an enigma despite being one of the most successful skippers in world cricket.
What makes Dhoni different from other cricketers, is the way he deals and reacts to pressure situations. The dynamic right-hander, has often won praise from the cricket cognoscenti for his ice-cool temperament.
There was a time when India’s captain cool had long brown hair. When MS Dhoni made his debut for India, he had a very uncommon hairstyle for an Indian cricketer. He had long and brown hair that made him very popular among the fans.
During a IND – PAK One-day series, when Dhoni performed brilliantly against Pakistan in Pakistan, the President of Pakistan Gen. Pervez Musharraf became a fan of Dhoni’s hair and requested him not have a haircut. Musharraf said this in a post-match presentation ceremony after a ODI match between India and Pakistan.
The same scene has been used by the producers of MS Dhoni’s biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and it brought back so many good memories.
“I SAW A PLACARD WHICH SAID ‘DHONI HAVE A HAIRCUT’. IF YOU WANT TO TAKE MY OPINION, YOU LOOK GOOD…
DON’T HAVE A HAIR CUT.”
