Twitter Reactions: Shiv Sena Protesters Forced BCCI To Postpone Meeting With PCB

The much-expected talks between Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Presidents about the proposed bilateral series have been postponed for Tuesday in New Delhi. The reason behind this postpone was that Shiv Sena activists forced the Board to cancel the meet in Mumbai on Monday and the meeting has postponed. The situation was uncontrollable.

At the BCCI headquarters on Monday, hundreds of Shiv Sainiks stormed the Board office and protested Anti-Pakistan slogans. “The talks have not been called off. BCCI President Shashank Manohar and PCB chief Shahryar Khan will speak to each other today evening and tomorrow they are coming to Delhi for another round of talks,” IPL chairman & Senior Board Functionary Rajiv Shukla told.

It is said that in Tuesday’s meeting, Shukla and BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur will also be attending. PCB chairman is expected to meet government officials for talks on the much-awaited series scheduled in December.

Putting a  full stop to the speculations, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Anurag Thakur on Monday confirmed that the talks about reviving ties with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been cancelled. “Officially there is no meeting scheduled in New Delhi. If the talks happen, they will take place in Mumbai at the BCCI headquarters. The BCCI and PCB have some outstanding issues and the PCB chief wanted to meet the BCCI president to discuss those things, but those have been cancelled now,” Thakur told.
