On one hand, Indian team is preparing its best to whitewash Sri Lankan team, here comes a fatal blow for the blue squad as the star-allrounder Ravindra Jadeja is set to miss the third test match on August 12th at Pallekele.
Despite his not-so-good performances in the matches preceding the India Vs Sri Lanka series, Ravindra Jadeja is doing real good in the ongoing test series.
Now, to everyone’s surprise, ICC has come up with certain norms that pleased the suspension of this all-rounder, those rules state that the player is suspended for the upcoming matches as his accumulated demerit points reached six within a 24-month period following his latest breach of the ICC Code of Conduct for which he received a 50% fine and three demerit points. On the top of that, he was found guilty of breaching article 2.2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct, this happened during the Colombo Test against Sri Lanka on Saturday.
This enigmatic 2.2.8 article states that “throwing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment such as a water bottle) at or near a player is an offense.
With the addition of Saturday’s three demerit points, he has reached the threshold of four demerit points, which, pursuant to article 7.6 of the Code, have now been converted into two suspension points. Following this suspension, the six demerit points will remain on Jadeja’s disciplinary record. If Jadeja reaches the next threshold of eight or more demerit points within a 24-month period, then they will be converted into four suspension points.
With all this happening, Jadeja has done some pretty good work in the just-completed match and he faced the wrath of ICC soon after being praised by skipper Virat Kohli.
Twitterati couldn’t stop taking digs at the player, though the cricket experts explained the actual details of the ban, netizens took on to the fun part and carried the happening to the whole new level.
I am puzzled by the Jadeja ban. It didn’t seem dangerous to me. Seems harsh

Sir he, like Rabada recently, hasn’t been banned due to one incident. It is due to combination of two incidents/offences.

I wouldn’t say that test cricket is dying, but would just tell you that Ravinder Jadeja is the top ranked test bowler at the moment.
