Though, with the very unexpected successful baits from the very beginning, Rising Pune Supergiants has proved its worth in the ongoing 10th installment of the India’s most glitzy and glamorous sports fraternity IPL. The victory for the Mumbai Indians has become inevitable.
This season, RPS has managed to win every critical bait with its finest bowlers as the backbone of the team, having Adam Zampa and Jaydev Unadkat the two best players in the IPL in the team, the Pune heroes haven’t left any stone unturned in bagging the victory for their beloved team. But what happened at the end of the final match has blown away everyone’s minds.
This game is definitely an antidote to all the boredom that held us hostage in the playoffs. A nail-biter, if ever there was one. 129 was never enough but looked like it, on this pitch, certainly. Pune needed 47 off their last 5 overs, having to match Mumbai’s 48 in their last five. And look how a run mattered. The game turned inside-out in the eighteenth over, in Bumrah’s penultimate, as the celebrated finisher, Dhoni, edged one behind.
And, Pune was still in, with 30 needed off the last three. Smith was there, making room, shuffling across and clipping Malinga’s fierce yorkers for runs. And then he hit that six in Bumrah’s last over: I thought that was it. 13 within 7, Pune will win – they should! – until Mitchell Johnson found himself on a hat-trick. And that after Tiwary’s first-ball four. He went, Smith followed, and Mumbai had their hands on the trophy.

As the total score of the Mumbai Indians’ summed up a mere 129, it appeared that the match might be a cake walk for the Supergiants, however, things turned upside down with MI emerging as the title holders once again.
