BJP Leader and Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel has always been in news for all the wrong reasons. He had been in the news for making a caricature of himself at the Rio Olympics, for getting confused between Duttee Chand and Srabani Nanda, for his selfies and for misspelling the name of Dipa Karmarkar on Twitter.
Once again Vijay Goel was targeted by the trollers after India won the Kabaddi World Cup. The reason for getting trolled was a picture that went viral in which the minister is seen posing for shutterbugs with the Indian team holding the trophy.
This picture caught the attention of the twitter users and blamed Vijay Goel for stealing their thunder and cheap publicity.
Twitter Reactions:
@VijayGoelBJP That’s how you steal someone else’s thunder. Sad how someone had 2 tell you 2 step away at the end. You couldn’t do it urself pic.twitter.com/Z5GU4PYOMa

Later, Goel tried to defend himself.
I went to cheer for the team and was also invited to present the trophy, you are free to interpret as per your wish.

Shameless politicians.
Hankering for cheap publicity, trying to steal attention from players.
Get out of the way. No one wants to see you. pic.twitter.com/A5E9VHo92M
