The only best method to shut the ‘criticizing’ opposition is to defeat them hands down. India Captain Virat Kohli talked about flaws in England’s Test batting line-up a day after pacer James Anderson questioned the India captain’s batting technique. James Anderson refused to accept the flaws and made some unflattering comments about Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Anderson had said that “Kohli’s technical flaws are not visible because of the helpful Indian tracks which lacked in pace and movement. The Indian Captain was not tested enough in home conditions.”
“I am not sure if Virat Kohli has changed. I just think any technical deficiencies he has got are not in play out here. The wickets just take that out of the equation. There is not that pace in the wicket to get the nicks like we did against him in England – with a bit more movement,” Anderson added.
This comment in the press meet at the end of Day-4 was enduring in the minds of Kohli and Ashwin. However, before any reply from the duo could come, Anderson seemed to have realized that he over spoke at that moment. When Anderson came out to bat as the last man, he had a few words for Kohli and Ashwin. We have seen Anderson having a chat with Kohli and Ashwin, later needed umpire’s intervention.

The fact was revealed post the presentation ceremony when Kohli was talking with Virender Sehwag on air. He said, “he clarified what he said in the press conference on day-4. Ashwin wasn’t pleased with whatever Anderson had said in the press conference. Ashwin said that it was disappointing to hear such words from you (Anderson) because if we have played well you should accept it.”
“Anderson felt a bit guilty and asked us to talk after the match gets over. Ashwin said that it was disappointing to hear such words from you (Anderson) because if we have played well you should accept it. Anderson felt bit guilty and asked us to talk after the match gets over. I replied that there’ no need to sit and talk as the scoreboard speaks about who was the superior team.”
