As the days pass by, the hullaballoo of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 has started shooting up. It’s less than a week away and the excitement started all around the world with cricketing fans waiting for their favorite players to see in action.
But ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017, here is a bad news for RCB lovers as their captain Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the tournament.
Virat Kohli, who suffered a shoulder injury during third India vs. Australia Test at Ranchi, has been deemed unfit to take part in the upcoming IPL.
Kohli was nursing the shoulder injury and had to sit out of the crucial fourth and final Test against Australia at Dharamsala. Earlier, Kohli was confident that he would back on the field after few weeks.
“It’s still a few weeks to go before I can be 100% on the field. But these things happen in your career. You have to take it in your stride and move forward,” Kohli said after the fourth Test.
Losing a player of Kohli’s caliber has undoubtedly come as a blow for RCB who are yet to win an IPL title. In Kohli’s absence, AB de Villiers is tipped to take over the charge of RCB. However, no official confirmation has been made in this regard. Also, there is no confirmation about Kohli replacement.
IPL 10 opens with RCB taking on defending Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 05. RCB will certainly miss the services of Kohli. The right-hander has been team’s mainstay and was in amazing form last year. Kohli smashed four-hundreds during IPL 9 to become the first batsman to score more than two centuries in a single season.
