[WATCH VIDEO] Virat Kohli Gives A Heart-Whelming Speech As Dhoni Completes His 300th ODI International

Started his career in 2004, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has proved himself with the back-to-back centuries in the beginning. His reign has begun long back when he was granted captaincy.

With the constant striving for excellence and flawlessness, Dhoni so far has achieved so much that no one can ever dream of. He bagged all kinds of tournaments for Team India, it is under his captaincy that the team has started fresh in all kinds of formats and ways.

Dhoni holds numerous captaincy records such as most wins by an Indian captain in Tests and ODIs, and most back-to-back wins by an Indian captain in ODIs. He took over the ODI captaincy from Rahul Dravid in 2007 and led the team to its first-ever bilateral ODI series wins in Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

Under his captaincy, India won the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the CB Series of 2007–08, the 2010 Asia Cup, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

For all the above successes of Team India, he, of course, plays the most crucial role, himself being the torch-bearer of the journeys.

Dhoni completed his 300 ODI internationals on Thursday. In the 300th match, he hit an unbeaten 49 off 42 in India’s 375 for five in the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka, was felicitated on the ground in the presence of the entire Indian team. Kohli’s short speech touched everyone’s hearts.

Just before presenting the gift, the captain has said, “What do I say. 90 percent of us started our career under you. It is an honor to give this memento to you. And you will always remain our captain,” for which he garnered huge applauses from the teammates.
