Washington Wizards Trade Center Dwight Howard To Memphis Grizzlies For C.J. Miles

Former All-Star Center Dwight Howard has been traded from the Washington Wizards to the Memphis Grizzlies for C.J. Miles, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Memphis Grizzlies are planning to waive the 8-time all-star and the 3 time defensive player of the year, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic’s.

Dwight was with the Wizards for only one season and was cut short after he had to undergo a lumbar microdiscectomy in late 2018.

The former all-star center only averaged 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in only playing 9 games for the Wizards last season.

Dwight has exercised his $5.6 million player option for the upcoming season.

C.J. Miles was acquired by the Grizzlies from the Toronto Raptors, the defending champs, in a blockbuster trade that sent Marc Gasol to the raps and Miles to Memphis.

Miles averaged 9.3 points per game with the Memphis.
