Not PM Modi Or Gurdas Mann Or Cricketers, But This Guest Was The Real Star At Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma’s Reception

After tying the wedding knot in a close-knit ceremony on December 11 in Italy, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma kicked off the second leg of the celebrations by throwing a grand wedding reception for friends and relatives in New Delhi on Thursday. The reception was held at the Taj Palace.

The glitzy affair saw high-profile personalities from many walks of life, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The newlyweds were in all traditional attire, dressed in Sabyasachi creations and were totally complementing each other. While Virat looked completely royal in the black bandhgala and white churidar, Anushka stepped out in a red Benarasi sari styled with a diamond choker and jhumkas.

Interestingly, a special stage was designed for the couple, both aged 29, with candles burning inside crystal fixtures. The couple then got off the stage and joined the guests. While most members of the Indian cricket team were missing from Virat Kohli Anushka Sharma’s Delhi reception, the event was graced only by few cricketers.

The event also saw guests dance to the tunes of Gurdas Mann, who remains to be one of the most iconic singers in India. The couple, surrounded by a lot many guests as compared to their wedding in Italy, were seen setting the dance floor on fire Gurdas Maan set the mood on stage.

Among the Indian cricketers, Gautam Gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan, and Suresh Raina were the ones who made it to the reception. With so many top guests around, it was someone else who stole the show. Zoravar, Dhawan’s son, was the apple of everybody’s eye as several posts surfaced on social media.

Kohli was seen dancing on the stage holding Zoravar in his hands with Dhawan and Mann by his side. Anushka Sharma, who looked stunning in a red Banarasi saree, was also spotted holding Zoravar in her hands. In a video, Anushka was also seen dancing with Dhawan, which was a delight to watch for all the guests.

Next in the pipeline is a grand reception to be held in Mumbai on December 26, 2017, where various cricketers and members of the film fraternity are expected to grace the red carpet.

Subsequently, Virushka will fly to South Africa to celebrate the New Year’s Eve together before the Indian cricket team skipper gets busy in the upcoming series with the Proteas, while the Bollywood actress returns to complete the shooting of her film.
