Russian Man Files Lawsuit Against Tech Giant Apple For Turning Him “Gay”

A Russian man has filed a lawsuit against Apple, a tech giant that produces smartphones, laptops, computers, tablets, and many e-services, for moral harm after an iPhone application “turned him gay”.

The man, whose identity was not shared with the public, filed the lawsuit in a court in Moscow, where is currently asking for one million rubles, which is equivalent to $15,380.

The unnamed man claims he was sent Gaycoin, a type of cryptocurrency, through an application instead of bitcoin, which he originally ordered.

Sapizhat Gusnieva, the lawyer of the man, said that the lawsuit is serious and added that his client is scared.

According to the lawyer, the ordered cryptocurrency of his client arrived with a note that said: “Don’t judge until you try.”

The lawyer said the man did what the note said, and after some time, his client ended up having a relationship with a man.

The lawsuit states, “I thought, in truth, how can I judge something without trying? I decided to try same-sex relationships. I can say after the passage of two months that I’m mired in intimacy with a member of my own sex and can’t get out.”

The lawsuit added, “I have a steady boyfriend and I don’t know how to explain it to my parents. After receiving the aforementioned message, my life has changed for the worse and will never be normal again.”

It continued, “Apple pushed me towards homosexuality through manipulation. The changes have caused me moral and mental harm.”

The man filed the lawsuit on September 20, 2019, and the next court hearing is set on October 17, 2019.

Apple is yet to release a statement about the claims of the man.

Gaycoin is being exchanged through a 3rd party application, but the lawyer of the man claims apple has a responsibility for the applications they have on their platform.

The LGBTQ community in Russia is not accepted by most of its citizens, and attacks are common.
