An employee of Facebook who was working at the Silicon Valley Headquarters, jumped to his death from the headquarters roof in an apparent suicide case.
Bystanders in Menlo Park, California, informed authorities by 11:30 am of September 19, 2019, about an adult male who jumped from the top of a 4 story building.
The incident happened on the 100 block of Jefferson Drive, Menlo Park in California.
Authorities and paramedics rushed to the headquarters after bystanders called 911 and rendered first aid.
The employee was declared on the scene by the paramedics.
The employee’s identity was not shared with the public.
Facebook confirmed the death in a statement that was released to DailyMail, in which they said, “We were saddened to learn that one of our employees passed away at our Menlo Park headquarters earlier today.”
The statement added, “We’re cooperating with police in their investigation and providing support to employees. While the family is being notified, we have not information to share. We hope to provide an update when we learn additional information from law enforcement.”
Preliminary investigations indicated no foul play involved in the death of the employee.
Officials are currently investigating the case as a suicide case.
The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office is going to determine the manner and the exact cause of the employee’s death.
