Teachers Day 2019: Google Celebrates Teachers’ Day With An Animated Doodle

Happy Teachers’ Day 2019 India: To celebrate Teachers’ Day in India, Google set up a Google Doodle on their homepage.

The Doodle shows a smiling red octopus doing a number of tasks with its tentacles. The red octopus could also be seen solving questions and taking notes in the Google Doodle.

On September 5 every year, India celebrates Teachers’ Day to honor Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the former President of India, on his birth anniversary.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was a teacher, politician, scholar, vice-president of India, President of India, and a philosopher.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was the first Vice President of India and the Second President of India. Born on September 5, 1888, in Tamil Nadu, Dr. Radhakrishnan was the Vice-Chancellor of the Andhra University for 5 years.

When Dr. Radhakrishnan became the President of India, he told his followers to stop celebrating his birthday. The former President said people should celebrate Teachers’ Day on September 5 and honor the teachers.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was once awarded the Bharat Ratna, which is the highest civilian honor in India. He was also nominated 27 times for the Nobel Prize, in which he was nominated 16 times for the Nobel Prize in Literature, and 11 times for the Nobel Peace Prize.
