For the first time in the History, India ranks in top three countries generating the most number of billionaires in the World. United States stands at the first followed by China and then India with its 97 billionaires. According to an article published on The Economic Times, Mukesh Ambani stands on the top with Rs. 1.2 Lakh Crores.
It is said that only those people with minimum wealth/properties worth Rs. 6000 crores made to the list.
Followed by Dilip Shanghvi of Sun PharmaBSE with an estimated wealth of Rs 1.02 lakh crore. Pallonji Mistry and family of Tata Sons with Rs 96,000 crore assets are in the third place.
So, in total out of 2089 billionaire in the world, 97 live in India.
Now my question is are we rich enough? Where are these billionaires gone? Are they doing anything good for their country? I doubt. Although we have many billionaires there are many people who are living without proper food and shelter. The illiteracy and unemployment rate is the same when considered before.
What I feel is rich is getting richer and poor still remains as poor. The billionaires should take a look into this issue seriously.
Few billionaires like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates have donated a lot of money to poor, I think its time even our billionaires also look into the other side of India.
