1-Month-Old Baby Boy Dies After Grandfather Gave Him Alcohol At Family Party

China: A 1 month old baby boy passed away after his grandfather gave him alcohol during a party that was held for the infant. Officials said that the grandfather was dared by the members of their family to do the act.

According to the Sin Chew Daily, the incident happened on July 12 in Beijing, when the family was gathered to celebrate the first month of the infant.

During the party, the paternal grandfather of the infant was dared to give alcohol to the one-month-old baby.

The paternal grandfather gave the infant a sip of a beverage that was alcoholic.

After some time, the mother of the infant found out that the child was having difficulties in breathing as it started to cry out loud.

The one-month-old baby boy was brought to a hospital near the area.

Reports suggest that the one-month-old baby passed away in the hospital.

According to the National Capital Poison Center, the bodies of children absorb alcohol at a higher rate, and even a small amount of alcohol digested by an infant can cause alcohol poison in them.

Alcohol poisoning can cause seizures, death, and a serious illness amongst children.

Alcohol digested by infants can cause a sudden drop in the blood glucose level of the children. This can cause seizures and even coma in children.

If the central nervous system of the baby is affected, his or her heart rate and blood pressure can slow down.

Officials suggest that if an infant accidentally digests alcohol, rush him/her to a hospital or call 911 right away.
