A South African woman was arrested by the CISF on June 4, 2019, at the Indira Gandhi International airport after the personnel recovered 58 pouches of pseudoephedrine were recovered from her luggage.

Officials said that the 12.8 kilograms of contraband drugs were hidden between her bed sheets in her luggage.

The CISF intercepted Jalisa Amanda Yoliswa Thandeka, a South African woman, at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, she was going to take a flight to Johannesburg.

Officials recovered 58 pouches of pseudoephedrine that were concealed in 29-bed sheets.

Authorities at the Indira Gandhi International Airport said that the 12.8 kilograms of pseudoephedrine are worth around Rs. 13 lakhs.

Jalisa Amanda Yoliswa Thandeka holds a South African Passport, said the authorities at the International Airport.

The South African woman has been handed over to the anti-narcotics unit of New Delhi.

A probe has been launched about where the drugs were headed to and where they came from.
