16-year-old teenager who played PUBG Mobile for 6 straight hours dies of cardiac arrest

A 16-year-old teen from Nasirabad, Rajasthan, dies of cardiac arrest after playing PUBG Mobile for 6 straight hours.

The 16-year-old teen has been identified as Furkan Qureshi, he is a student of the 12th standard in India.

Haroon Rasheed Qureshi, the father of Furkan, said that the incident happened on May 28 when they were in Neemuch for a wedding.

The family of Furkan did not register any police complaint at the local police station.

During an interview with PTI, Haroon said that he heard Furkan shouting “blast it, blast it” while playing PUBG Mobile on his smartphone.

Haroon Rasheed Qureshi said that Furkan was active even if he was addicted to playing PUBG Mobile.

He then explained the incident, Haroon said that Furkan slept for a couple of hours, and after eating his breakfast, he started to play PUBG Mobile for 6 straight hours.

He even heard Furkan shouting “blast it, blast it”.

When Furkan was found unconscious, he was rushed to a local hospital.

Ashok Jain, a cardiologist, said, “I examined him at my nursing home. He was unresponsive. His heartbeat had stopped. I tried my best but he was brought dead.”

Dr. Jain added, “The death was caused possibly by severe cardiac arrest triggered by sudden, but deep shock. The sudden burst of excitement or fear of loss just like what happens to die-hard fans watching a nail-biting soccer match could have caused deep shock leading to the cardiac arrest, which ultimately led to the death.”

PUBG Mobile is banned by the police in a few cities in Gujarat, the authorities believe that the game leads to a violent behavior amongst the youth and children.

PUBG has been banned in a couple of cities in India. Rajkot, Vadodara, and Surat have banned the game. Following them, the districts of Gir Somnath and Bhavnagar banned the game too. The Aravalli District also banned the popular game.

This is not the first time that the game has been held responsible for the death of its users, on March 18, 2019, 2 men were killed after they got hit by a moving train while they were playing PUBG Mobile.
