4-Year-Old Girl On Inflatable Unicorn Saved After Being Spotted Floating Half A Mile Away From Shore

A 4-year-old girl from Greece was saved by a passing ferry after she was spotted floating half a mile away from the shore while she was riding an inflatable unicorn.

The girl, who was not identified, was carried away by the wind and was swept by the currents when she was out at sea with her parents.

The incident happened in Antirrio, western Greece, on Monday afternoon.

Passengers onboard the Salamina Warrior Ferry en route to Rio, a town in Patras across the sea, saw the kid on her floating unicorn.

The passengers informed the crew, who stopped the boat 500 meters away from the shore.

The staff lowered the landing deck of the ship to let the girl’s float drift towards the ferry.

The girl was successfully saved by the staff. She was rushed to a local hospital afterward.

Reports suggest that she was reunited with her parents.

Grigoris Karnesis, the captain of the ferry, told the local news agencies that the girl was in shock when they saved her.

Captain Karnesis said that the girl did not speak to them for some time when they saved her.

Talking about the girl and the rescue mission, Captain Karnesis said:

I placed the ship in a way that it is not affected by ripples, we would have serious problems if the lifebuoy sank. The girl could also fall into the water if the waves are too big.

The parents of the girl brought the girl to a psychologist, who reportedly told them to bring the girl back to the beach so she could overcome her experience, which they called extremely traumatic.
