Ratnagiri, Maharashtra: An 8-Foor long crocodile was found trapped inside a roadside drain in Chiplun, which is a tourist destination, and was rescued by officials.
The video of the crocodile was shared by the Deccan Chronicle on Twitter.
Reports suggest that the incident happened in the Dadar area of Chiplun.
According to the Forrest Officials of the area, the incident happened last week on July 26, when the area experienced heavy rain which lead to heavy floods.
After locals saw the massive crocodile trapped in the drain, they informed the local fire department and the forest department.
V.K. Surve, a Forrest Officer in the District, said, “This is quite common in this region during the monsoon. We rescued this crocodile safely. Since it had not suffered any injuries, it was released back into the river.”
Officer Surve added, “I have been barraged with calls… I have said it’s the Dadar area of Chiplun and not the Dadar of Mumbai.”
During an interview with IANS, V.K. Surve said that their office rescues wild animals such as leopards, snakes, crocodiles, and many more.
