February 14th is coming! Couples alert! Bhakts out there, they’ll get you married, even if you’re good friends.
There are heaps of stories of activists and bhakts forcing the couples to get married, their moral policing is something definitely out of hands. Meanwhile, here’s a government’s representative, who partly sounded like an activist with his own rules, according to sources, Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh in Madhya Pradesh and he passed a notice ordering his people to worship their parents on the eve of Valentine’s day.
He even depicted the day as ‘Matra Pitra Pujya Divas’.

Sources claim that the notice read “there is a dire need for kids and young adults to express love for their parents and keeping that in mind, Valentine’s Day should be celebrated as Matra Pitra Pujya Divas”.
It was also mentioned in the notice, that “the day should observed as such in all the social institutions and it’s expected from people of all the villages, cities and colonies to organise programmes encouraging the concept.”
Some criticised this move as it sounded like taking over the ‘Freedom of Expression’, some slammed the collector on Twitter for the hypocritical idea. However, there are people who liked his idea.
