Boy Scout Creates Device That Can Help Save People From Drowning

A 13-year-old Boy Scout has developed a device to help save people from drowning, and the best thing about this is that it is working.

Kaial Haji, a boy from Panama City Beach, Florida, came up with a unique idea after hearing about the many instances of drowning in the nearby Gulf of Mexico.

Haji said he did it to help save people from drowning in his local community.

He created a kit that would help people from drowning.

Haji created the LifeBoKx, which is in the prototype. It will be installed along beaches to help potential drowning victims.

The box that he is creating contains 2 life vests, a lifebuoy, instructions on how to properly do CPR if needed, and other procedures that would help people save others.

Not only that, but location numbers to help rescuers find the person in danger in a faster manner will also be included in the LifeBoKx.

During an interview with the local press, Haji said:

It’s very simple, I would say, but it’s also very important in saving someone’s life. I wanted to let people know how to actually save people from those kinds of disasters, like either currents or drownings.

Joe, the father of Haji, said that he was not surprised that his son came up with this idea.

The father said that Haji has always wanted to find solutions to problems that affect the lives of many.

Joe added:

I think when he saw the severity of the drownings throughout the year and the data, it drove him to [be] like, ‘I see a need, fill a need’.

At the end of the day, it is the timing that will save a life, said the father of Haji.

This is why the box that they are creating will have a specific location assigned to it, this will help rescuers arrive at the scene at the fastest time possible.

Joe explained:

When you dial 911 [and say] ‘I’m at LifeBoKx 66 Charlie’, they’re going to know right away where they’re at. They’re between 66 and 67. Faster first response, faster getting the first responders on site to save that life.

Joe and Haji are currently working together to finish the prototype.

They want to present their unique creation in front of the Optimist Club of Panama City Beach.

Such an amazing creation by Haji, let’s all hope more kids come up with unique creations like these.
