A 12-year-old boy passed away after his cellphone exploded near him inside their home in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.
Officials said that the incident happened in Likhedi Village, which is 10 kilometers away from Badnawar, Dhar.
Nandu Singar, the father of Lakhan, said that his 12-year-old son was charging his phone and suddenly the battery of the phone exploded.
CB Singh, a senior police officer, said, “His uncle rushed inside the house when he heard the explosion, he took him to the hospital where he died.”
According to a relative of the 12-year-old boy, they heard a sound coming out from his room, when they rushed inside his room, they saw Lakhan lying down on the floor.
The relative added that the charge also exploded into pieces.
The explosion was so strong that the switchboard also exploded into pieces.
CB Singh, a senior police officer, said that a case has been registered for the unfortunate incident and added that a probe has been launched.
