A Chinese surgeon is currently being hailed as a hero, after he managed to complete 7 surgeries without taking any break.

The Chinese doctor went viral after a picture of him sleeping on the floor was shared on Social media.

Instead of becoming boastful, Dr. Dai Yu decided to stay humble and said that it was his duty to provide care to his patients who needed help.

It is reported that Dr. Dai Yu is the deputy director of the Orthopaedic Department of Longgang Central Hospital in the Shenzhen province of Southern China.

The picture of him sleeping on the floor was taken by his colleague who shared it online.

During his interview with Longgang Channel, a local news agency, Dr. Dai said that on the day of the said incident, he was tasked to perform 10 operations.

Dr. Dai said he started to perform surgeries by 8 am on that day and carried out performing 7 without taking any breaks.

After 9 hours of continues work, Dr. Dai decided to sit on the floor of an operating theatre in the hospital so he could take a 10-minute break.

During his break, Dr. Dai fell asleep and a colleague of his snapped a picture of him and uploaded it on social media.

Dr. Dai woke from the nap and continued to perform surgeries until 9 pm.

Dr. Dai said it was his responsibility to give patients treatment as soon as possible so he could save their lives or help them recover from an illness.

Dr. Dai has a simple goal, and that goal is to improve his surgical skills.

Dr. Dai said he wants to make his operations textbook examples for his peers.
