Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh: A father who raped his 19-year-old daughter for 2 years was arrested by the police after he killed her.

The police arrested the father after the elder daughter of the man registered a complaint against him.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the father raped his daughter for 2 years and killed her on July 26, 2019, by slitting her throat and cutting her neck open.

After killing her daughter, the man buried the severed head of the 19-year-old girl in an open area of Urwa and threw her body in a canal in the same are.

During interrogation, the man confessed that he raped his own daughter for 2 straight years and killed her after she resisted her rape attempts.

Sunil Gupta, a senior police officer, said that the wife of the man passed away 15-years-ago.

The elder daughter of the man got married 4 years ago.

The man was living alone with his 19-year-old daughter.

The crime came to light when the elder sister called her father and asked him why her sister did not visit her for Raksha Bandhan.

The elder sister reportedly said that her father confessed the crime to her first on the phone.

The elder sister then called the police and reported the incident.

The police have registered a rape and murder case against the man.

The father was arrested and has been sent to prison.

The body parts of the girl have been recovered.
