Hero 15-Year-Old Brother Dies Protecting 5-Year-Old Sister From A Home Invader In Florida

A 15-year-old boy from Florida is currently being hailed as a hero, after died protecting his 5-year-old sister when a burglar entered their home in Florida.

15-year-old Khyler Edman was found dead inside his house in Port Charlotte on Thursday last week, after a violent encounter with a burglar who broke into their home.

Bill Prummell, the Sheriff of the Charlotte County, said the teenager died trying to protect his little sister and his home.

Sheriff Prummell said, “They found that forced entry was made into a doorway and inside that residence they found a teenager and a young child. It appears that the suspect had broken into this residence. A violent encounter ensued where we believe that the teenager was trying to protect the home, protect their younger sibling.”

The police did not reveal how the 15-year-old hero passed away.

The dead body of the 15-year-old teenager was discovered by the police after they received a number of reports that said a man with injuries was seen running in the neighborhood.

The suspect took off across a canal when the authorities arrived in the neighborhood. The suspect then entered a home of a man who called the police to report an unknown male entering his private property.

Officers arrested the burglar and rushed him into a hospital after the authorities realized he had several stab wounds to his and side.

Upon investigating, the police found out that a second burglary took place nearby.

This is when the police found the dead body of Khyler, and his unharmed 5-year-old sister.

Ryan Clayton Cole, the burglar, received his injuries inside the same residence during a violent encounter.

On Monday, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the identity of the teenager.

In a statement that was released by the Sheriff’s office, they said, “We request that the community and media continue to give the family privacy as they grieve. Detectives are continuing to work closely with the State Attorney’s Office on this investigation.”

Ryan Cole, the burglar, is currently charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and petit theft for the incident.

More charges may be charged against Cole after the investigation for the death of the 15-year-old concludes.
