Huge Great White Shark Stuns Fishermen After It Steals The Bait

We are all scared of sharks thanks to Jaws, but what if you get to encounter a shark that is big as your fishing boat?

Well, that is what exactly happened to a group of sport fishermen when they saw a huge great white shark on Monday off the coast of New Jersey.

One of the crew members of the boat managed to capture the once in a lifetime opportunity on his camera.

Jeff Crilly, the Captain and the owner of Big Nutz Required II, said, “We’ve fished for sharks a lot and never seen anything like that. We were amazed by how big it was.”

Captain Crilly owns a Bertram Sport Boat that is 31-feet long, he also estimates that the great white shark was half the size of his boat.

He added, “It was harder to guess the weight because we had nothing to compare it to, but it was probably about 2,000 pounds.”

Jeff and his friends were in a Mako Shark Tournament and placed a number of baits in the water so they could attract sharks.

The crew also placed a small tuna that was drifting in the open water.

The good thing is that the shark was not hooked.

After stealing the bag of bait, the great white shark swam away and vanished.

The entire moment lasted for a couple of minutes, and thanks to one of the fishermen, the once in a lifetime experience were caught on cam.

Jeff Crilly also shared the video on Facebook, and since sharing it on the social media platform, it has been viewed for more than 400,000 times.

During an interview with the Asbury Park Press, Jeff said, “We’ve fished for sharks a lot and never seen anything like that. We were amazed by how big it was.”

He added, “It was harder to guess the weight because we had nothing to compare it to, but it was probably about 2,000 pounds.”

Jeff also shared what they felt after the shark showed.

During an interview with NBC, Jeff said, “This thing is huge and we all started going crazy. We definitely were afraid of it coming into the boat, more because it easily nosed its head up past the silver rub rail and it could’ve easily pushed the boat down – or worse, jumped in.”
