Palghar, Maharashtra: A 9-year-old girl was raped by an unidentified person in Palghar, Maharashtra on the intervening night of July 30 and 31.

Officials said that the incident happened in the Virar area of Palghar.

Preliminary investigations revealed that an unidentified man came inside the house of the 9-year-old girl and raped her inside a room of the house.

An FIR was registered by the police under the relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act at the Virar Police Station.

The police are currently searching for the man who raped the 9-year-old girl.
