New York Woman Catches Strange Fish With 2 Mouths

Lake Champlain, New York: A woman from NYC managed to reel in a strange fish that has 2 mouths, she has become an internet sensation after photos of her holding the fish were uploaded on social media.

Debbie Geddes was on a fishing trip with her husband on Lake Champlain last week when she managed to reel in the strange fish.

She took pictures with the fish before throwing it back in to the lake.

During an interview with Fox News, Debbie said, “When this particular fish bit, it felt like I had a nice fish on.”

She added, “I actually commented, “I hope it’s as big as it feels!.” ‘When we got it in the boat I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! Two mouths! And yet this fish was healthy and thriving! Pretty amazing!.”

She continued, “We quickly took a few pictures and released the fish.”

A picture of her holding the 2 mouthed fish was uploaded by Adam Facteau, a co-worker of Geddes.

Adam claims that he is more excited about the catch.

During an interview, he said, “She wasn’t convinced anyone would care about the catch. I knew it would be popular.”

The picture was posted on the Knotty Boys Fishing, a page on Facebook.

The picture has over 6000 shares and over 900 likes.

Adam added, “Well, I think everyone has an opinion, which makes it interesting for discussion.”

The comments section of the post had a lot of things going on.

Michael Durkalec, a fish biologist, dropped a comment on the picture.

He wrote, “Speaking as a fish biologist, clearly, the isthmus below the lower jaw just got torn earlier in life (likely from some sort of angler related injury) and it healed over.”

When Adam was asked if the second mouth of the fish could be due to pollution, he said, “Sure, that’s possible. However, Lake Champlain is also known for being a sewage dumping ground from Canada and (Vermont). Plus, many of these fish are stocked.”

He added, “Could it be? Not sure. Regardless, it’s a catch of a lifetime and has a lot of public opinions.”

Debbie said she was shocked and overwhelmed with how viral her picture went.

She said, “I just can’t believe all the attention this has received. The public’s responses/theories are quite interesting, to say the least. I personally believe it was caused by a previous injury, most likely from another angler.”

Well, that’s one weird catch you got Debbie..
