On June 5, 2019, an obsessed man set his brother-in-law’s pregnant wife on fire and himself afterward, the unusual incident happened in Rajkot, Gujarat.

The investigating officers said that 40-year-old Chetan Palan was in love with the pregnant wife of his brother-in-law and was trying to pursue her since last year.

Chetan Pelan and the 25-year-old pregnant woman attained burn injuries.

They are both admitted in the Rajkot Civil Hospital.

Inspector VV Odedara of the Gandhigram Police Station said 40-year-old Chetan Palan will be facing an attempted murder case.

The 25-year-old pregnant woman is married to the cousin of Chetan’s wife.

Officials added that Chetan Palan was angry after the pregnant woman did not allow him to pursue her, and on Monday morning when the woman was buying vegetables near her home in Rajkot, the man allegedly poured petrol all over her and set her on fire.

After doing this, Chetan also did the same thing.

The neighbors saved Chetan and the pregnant woman, they also took them to the Rajkot Civil Hospital.

The pregnant woman and Chetan Palan both attained 70 percent burn injuries.
