Yousif Alqutai, the man who was seen in a video that went viral earlier this week, has been arrested by the Saudi Arabian Police.
In the video, Yousif could be seen brutally slapping his baby daughter, as she was struggling to stand up and was not able to walk.
Yousif was filmed slapping his daughter on her face and back each time she failed to walk.
Yousif is a Palestinian man, who is living in the Gulf state. He grabbed his daughter by the scruff of the neck and dangled her body above the ground.
According to New Arab, a news agency in Saudi Arabia, the video was taken a long time ago.
Yousif, the man in the video, is currently seeking forgiveness for his horrible acts and claims the video was taken a long time ago.
In an apology video he released on Social Media, he said, “As you can all see now she is perfectly fine. I tried to teach her to walk and now look by the grace of God she walks by herself.”
The video that showed Yousif abusing his daughter went so viral that a number of celebrities, which includes Nora Fatehi, shared the video and asked people to identify the man.
Nadine Nassib Njeim, an actress from Lebanon, said, “Children Protection Associations need to intervene urgently for sure! But honestly this toddler is damaged in a way or another! The way he hit her on the head. I can’t take her out of my head! What is happening to humanity? It’s insane!”
The police were informed about the video.
The Saudi Police identified Alquitai and detained him.
The spokesperson of the Saudi Police released a statement and said, “The man, a Palestinian national in his 40s, has been identified as the culprit and he was arrested from the Casablanca neighborhood, south of Riyadh city.”
The spokesperson of the police added that they are going to provide necessary care to the 4 children of the man.
In the apology video he released, Alqutai blamed his wife and the mother of his 4 children for abuse which caused him psychological damage.
