Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the head of the Dera Sacha Sauda, has filed a parole application so he could look after his fields in Sirsa, Haryana.
The jail superintendent of the jail he is in has called him a “good conduct inside the jail premises” and is not a “hardcore” criminal.
The superintendent of the jail added that Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has not committed any foul play inside the jail.
Ram Rahim is the head of the Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa, Haryana, he has filed an application for parole so he could look after the farming at his farms in Sirsa.
Dr. Arun Singh, the Superintendent of the Sirsa Police said, “The report will be prepared taking into account merits and demerits of the parole, if granted. On a routine basis, we prepare reports on parole applications based on merits and demerits of each case.”
Minister Anil Viz of Haryana also commented about the plea that was filed by Baba Ram Rahim, the minister said, “There is nothing wrong in giving him parole even though he has been convicted. The parole rule must be the same for all. Like other people gets parole if he has behaved properly in the jail, he can get parole. Don’t join everything to election, parole is his right like any other prisoner.”
The Sirsa Police is currently in talks with the Revenue Department, they are trying to find out and see how much land does Ram Rahim owns in the state.
Ram Rahim has only been inside the prison for one year, he is currently serving a 20-year sentence after pleading guilty in two rape cases.
A Special CBI court located in Panchkula handed him and three other people life imprisonment for murdering a journalist 16-years-ago, the sentence was given to Ram Rahim in January 2019.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is currently a prisoner inside the Sunaria Jail in Rohtak.
