School Principal And Teacher Arrested In Link To The Sri Lanka Easter Attack  

Authorities of Sri Lanka announced that they arrested a school teacher and principal for being linked to the NTJ (National Thawheed Jamaath), the group is responsible for the Sri Lanka Easter Sunday Bomb Blasts in which 260 people were killed.

The police arrested a 56-year-old principal and a 47-year-old teacher from a school that is located at the Ataweerawewa, they were arrested in Horowpathana City this week.

The government of Sri Lanka said that the Special Task Force of Horowpathana city arrested the 2 suspects.

According to the Colombo Page, the principal and the teacher have been identified as Noor Mohamed Addu UI and Ajibul Jabar, they are residents of Kapugollwea, Horowpathana, Colombo.

The police received a piece of information that suggested the principal and the teacher had direct links with the leader of the NTJ Mohamad Sahran Hashmim, the man who was responsible of the suicide attack on the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo on 21 April.

The teacher and the principal are going to be brought to the Kebithigollewa Magistrate Court on Friday.

9 suicide bombers carried out the Easter Sunday Bomb Blasts that destroyed 3 churches, 3 five-star hotels. A total of 258 people were killed in the terrorist attack, and more than 500 people were injured.

The ISIS claimed the attack, but the government of Sri Lanka believed that the NTJ carried them out.

A number of communal riots occurred after the Easter Sunday Bomb Blasts in Sri Lanka. Most of them were Anti-Muslim riots, in which one person was killed and a number of homes, mosques, and businesses were damaged.

Officials say that they have arrested more than 70 people for attacking Muslims who live in Sri Lanka.
