We all know what would happen if your partner finds out you cheated. It’s either a big slap on your face or your car getting full with “cheater” graffiti.
But a sex therapist from Australia says couples should cheat and claims that it is beneficial for couples in the long run.
Matty Silver, a relationship counselor from Sydney, Australia, says cheating brings couples closer.
Matty made the bold claims during an interview, in which he said, “Starting to understand an affair and how it happened can help provide clarity and give answers to the many questions a couple may feel are still unanswered. This is not about assigning blame, but a time to deconstruct the affair and find out where the roots of the infidelity started so they can make decisions on how their relationship can go forward.”
Previous researches have also made some pretty bold claims.
Before, a study suggested that couples cheat on their partners the most during summertime.
Ashley Madison, a dating website for people who are married, claims that most people join their website during summertime.
The daring website also says that the peak time for cheating 2 years ago was in July, during the peak of the summertime.
Dr. Tammy Nelson, a sex and relationship therapist, who is also the author of “The New Monogamy: Redefining Your Relationship After Infidelity”, says there is an explanation behind this bold claim.
Dr. Nelson said, “Increased levels of serotonin are associated with more exposure to sunshine, ultimately allowing people to feel happier.”
She added, “With more sun exposure in the summer people will feel happier, more confident, and this could help kick start someone’s decision to start an extra-marital affair, allowing them to feel better about the decision.”
