SWAT Officer Shoots Hostage Taker From Between Colleague’s Legs In A Subway Station In China

A Chinese SWAT officer gunned down a hostage-taker, who held a woman with a knife, through the legs of his colleague.

The SWAT officer set up a rifle between the legs of his colleague and gunned down the hostage-taker who held a helpless woman at knifepoint.

The SWAT that gunned down the hostage-taker was wearing civilian clothes and lay down on his stomach for over 2 hours.

While the police officers tried to talk the hostage taker out of the situation, the man was ready to shoot the suspect if anything went south.

It is reported that the SWAT officer was instructed by the authorities to shoot the hostage-taker is he tries to harm the woman.

The incident happened on August 9, 2019.

The hostage managed to get out of the situation without receiving any injuries.

The footage of the entire scene was shared by the Nanning Police on Weibo, a Twitter-like platform of China.

The SWAT that gunned down the hostage-taker is Zeng Hao, a 42-year-old captain of the Nanning SWAT Team, who has served the anti-terrorism forces for nearly 19 years.

Captain Zeng Hao and 4 of his colleagues were awarded by the local government last week for their outstanding work.

Captain Zeng said that this was the first time that he had to shoot a hostage-taker.

Captain Zeng killed the hostage-taker with only taking one shot of the 7.62mm sniper rifle.

The Nanning Police released security footage of the entire incident. The footage showed 18-year-old Huang, the hostage-taker, walking with a woman while his arm was wrapped around the woman.

It is reported that 18-year-old Huang picked the victim in the lobby of the subway station.

The video shows the hostage-taker sitting behind the helpless woman and holding her in the corner of the station near the ticket vending machines.

The Nanning SWAT team was called into the scene by 4:56 pm.

Qi Hongwei, the Chief Negotiator of the Nanning Swat, and Captain Zeng Hao, the marksman, were brought in.

Negotiator Q said that the hostage-taker was not communicating with them and didn’t want to speak with them.

During an interview with the local news station, Qi said, “I asked him where he was from and why he was doing this. Then I asked him to let the girl go and offered him water, but he said no to everything.”

Qi said that the hostage-taker asked the police to give him a gun so he could commit suicide. The hostage-taker also threatened to hurt the girl if they didn’t give him a gun.

While officer Qi was busy negotiating with the hostage-taker, Officer Zeng set up his rifle around the corner, behind a police officer.

Officer Zeng pointed the barrel of the sniper between the legs of the policeman and aimed it right towards the hostage-taker.

Officer Zeng held the position for 2 straight hours until 7 pm, when the hostage-taker tried to harm the woman.

When Officer Zeng saw that the man was about to harm the victim, he took the shot and hit the 19-year-old teen on his head.

Officers could be seen running towards the female hostage and escorting her away.

Huang, the hostage-taker, was killed with a single shot.

Officer Zeng explained why he went straight to hit the hostage-taker on his head.

He explained, “Because the suspect was sitting behind the victim, holding her, only about 10 centimeters (four inches) of his head was exposed. Shooting anywhere else might’ve threatened the hostage, so I ruled out attempting to hit any other body parts. I’ve been a policeman for 19 years and taken part in many hostage rescue operations, but this is the first time I’ve had to shoot a suspect.”
