Tennessee Grocery Store Hires Homeless Black Woman That Frequently Slept In Their Parking Lot

A grocery store in Tennessee, USA, hired a homeless woman that was frequently seen sleeping in their open parking lot.

According to a report that was published by Fox News, a Kroger Supermarket outlet in Nashville took a chance on LaShenda Williams almost 1 year ago.

A touching video that was recently shared by the grocery chain reveals that Ms. Williams would usually park her car at the parking lot of their store and would sleep there.

The poor woman had battled drug addiction and abuse. This led her to live in her car.

Williams said that she would put her seat all the way back so no one could see her.

One day, Williams crossed paths with Jackie Vandal, the hiring manager of the supermarket, who gave her an opportunity to turn things around.

Vandal told Williams about a job fair.

Talking about Williams, Vandal said:

You get a feel if someone’s sincere or if they’re just trying to get a job to say they got one and then quit a month later. She was very sincere.

On the day of the job fair, Williams, who is 46, was hired as soon as she filled out the application form through an online portal. And yes, Vandal helped out in filling the form.

As soon as she was told that she got the job, Williams broke out in tears and was really happy to start a new life.

It has been 10 months now that Kroger had been working at the supermarket.

Her story gained attention after one of their customers got to know about Williams getting her own apartment.

The person that got to know about her story donated some of the things that he owned and reached out to the community to do the same thing.

Williams says that she is extremely happy because no one abuses her now and no one calls her dumb or stupid.

She also said that it is the first time in her life that she got peace.

Amazing things happen to people that want to change, good luck Williams, our good wishes are with you.
