Woman from Oklahoma faces 24 counts of felony animal cruelty charges for starving 2 dozen horses and donkeys

2 dozen horses and donkeys were found fighting for their lives after they were found starving in Choctaw, Oklahoma. The owner of the property could now face 24 counts of felony animal cruelty charges.

Natalee Cross, from the Blaze’s Tribute Equine Rescue, called the catch as the “worst we have probably seen.”

Investigating officers said that the ribs of the animals were poking out from their skin.

They even said that harnesses were embedded in their skins and added that most of them could not even stand up.

The animals are currently fighting for their lives.

Natalee added that their suffering is “not right”.

The police were called to a home in Choctaw, Oklahoma when the neighbor saw a starving horse in their neighbor’s house.

Officials said that the horse was left to suffer as it was too sick and could not be saved.

Natalee Cross added, “If we had gotten to her earlier, we maybe could’ve done something but not after she had been down that long.”

The call was intended for one horse, but after further investigation, the Choctaw Police discovered 2 dozen animals which include horses, a 6-week-old foal, and donkeys.

Cross then said, “There’s not hardly anything left of them,”

She added, “They’ve been starved greatly.”

The rescued animals are currently with the Blaze’s Tribute Equine Rescue.

The animals were placed in confined spaces.

Cross said that some animals did not even have eyes.

Natalee believes that “This doesn’t happen overnight.”

According to the local police, 24 counts of felony Animal Cruelty are going to be filed at Irma Kendrick, the owner of the property where the animals were found.

When Irma was asked to comment about the incident, she said, “I have no comments on that goodbye!”

But Irma Kendrick told the officers that “she’s on an extremely fixed income” and “continues to breed and bring in additional horses.”

Blaze’s Tribute Equine Rescue also rescued 2 horses from the Midwest City property of Irma Kendrick in 2012.

The Rescue added that her property in Choctaw, which is new, currently has 150 chickens and more than 200 rabbits.

The Blaze’s Tribute Equine Rescue is currently taking care of 200 horses and is run by donations from the public.
