A 26-year-old prison guard from California, USA, has been sacked from her job and was arrested for having a sexual relationship with an inmate, for giving him a smartphone, and trying to smuggle booze into the prison.
The incident happened at the Fresno County Jail in California, USA.
Tina Gonzales, the 26-year-old, was charged with having sexual relations with an inmate at Fresno County Jail.
The officer was also charged with smuggling booze into the jail and for trying to slip a mobile phone to her prison lover.
The police arrested her on Friday after other lags tipped off officials about the relationships of the 2.
Gonzales had been on the job since September 2016, but was sacked after a grilling by prison bosses.
Tony Botti, the spokesman of the Sheriff’s office, confirmed that the woman is being booked into the jail where she worked on a $22,000 bond.
The alcohol was not provided to an inmate and the charge stems from a separate incident.
Gonzalez had been working with the sheriff’s office since September 2016.
Gonzales was working as a correctional officer at the prison when the sheriff’s office learned about the allegations in the early December of 2019.
She was also interviewed by detectives.
