Hyderabad: 108 Emergency Services Disrupted In TS & AP For Second Time In 2 Months Due To Road Maintenance Work

Emergency services 108 are serving for all the emergency cases in both the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for a long time. But due to some fiber cable damage near outer ring road, the service is being interrupted. 108 will offer their service 24 hours to save the emergency cases in both the states.

Through the main call center that is coordinated with distress calls, which is operated from Hyderabad will receive 40,000 calls for a day from both the states. From Telangana region, there will be 316 ambulances and 436 from Andhra Pradesh for this 108 service.

“Both the states have a single server which is causing this technical problem. The last time it occurred, we escalated the matter to the authorities and suggested that there should be separate servers to avoid this inconvenience as this is a matter of life and death,” said Ashok Palle, president of Telangana 108 Employees Association.

On the other hand, the staff at Osmania General Hospital stated that business was as usual and they were not aware of the situation and were on their regular duties.  It is also said that the staff has observed that telecom operators from Jio, Tata Docomo, BSNL, Uninor, Vodafone cannot make a request on the above-mentioned date.

The Chief Operation Officer said regarding the service interruption in both states was due to damage of cable lines of BSNL which supports 108 on ORR and was resolved it in a day with the support of Tata Telecom Services. BSNL is also working on the present lines and restoring the line if any problem it’s there.
