Siva Ramachandran, SriLankan Airlines Chief Commercial Officer said, “Hyderabad will be an important addition to our global network. This new service reflects SriLankan’s continuous commitment in consolidating the Asian market and offering travelers seamless travel experiences with great comfort. Globally, we had carried 4.5 million passengers last year, registering highest growth ever. Passenger numbers have grown by 11 percent. Revenue growth is a bit slow, but is expected to recover in the coming years.”

“We are the second largest airline to operate into India after Emirates and connect to 14 destinations. We are increasing frequencies to Delhi, Mumbai, Doha, and Dubai. We are receiving deliveries of old orders that we placed earlier. We want to grow moderately and carefully calculate the aircraft requirements. We have just received two A320 neo aircraft and one A321 aircraft and are expecting another A321 by the end of this month and another one in March next year. Some of them are going to replacements. We are going to have 11 widebodies and 14 narrow body aircraft.” he added.

“The airline has connectivity to Europe, Far East, and Gulf region. We will be starting our first flight to Melbourne on October 29 this year,” he added.

In addition to this SriLankan will operate 126 flights per week to 14 cities in India, with existing services to Chennai, Trichy, Trivandrum, Mumbai, New Delhi, Gaya, Madurai, Varanasi, Kochi, Bangalore, and Kolkata.

Travelers to and from Hyderabad can now enjoy SriLankan hospitality onboard with its ultra-modern fleet of Airbus aircraft packed with in-flight entertainment systems and superior comforts. The airline has deployed its brand new A320neo and A321neo aircraft on its routes to South India.

SriLankan’s global route network now spans 105 cities in 47 countries. As a member of Oneworld alliance, SriLankan also offers its passengers connectivity to over 1,000 cities in 160 countries that are served by its Oneworld partner airlines.
