No wonder that our nature is full of surprises, be it the variety of species of flora or distinctly mind boggling fauna. Now, after going through many discoveries regarding the new species of Whales and snakes, a new specimen of frog is discovered and this being has left everyone amazed with its absolutely amazing structure.

There is a whole group of so-called glass frogs in the branch of Neotropics, that amaze with their transparent skin covering their bellies and showing their organs underneath. A recently discovered new species from Amazonian Ecuador, however, goes a step further to fully expose its heart thanks to the transparent skin stretching all over its chest as well as the stomach.

And this newly found frog called ‘Hyalinobatrachium yaku’, discovered in the Amazonian lowlands of Ecuador, has unique physical and behavioral traits.

Juan Guayasamin of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador has said:

“Males guard the eggs, which are attached below a tree’s leaves until they hatch and fall into the water stream below.”

“Not all glass frogs have hearts that are visible through the chest. In some, the heart itself is white, so you don’t see the red blood,” said Paul Hamilton, of Biodiversity Group.

“If the stream dries up, or becomes polluted, the frogs can’t survive, and other more resilient creatures may be next,” Paul concluded.
