Indian Government Waives Tax Over Non-Ac Restaurants for Consumers (Clear Guidelines)

Implementation of GST by the union government during the recent times has imposed an extra economic burden over the common people of India as people were forced to think twice before rushing to restaurants, eating joints or messes to fulfill their hunger. Encountering opposition and a strong resistance from the political bodies and people across the nation union finance ministry has now stepped down to give up the tax over the restaurants, eating joints or messes without the facility of air-conditioning from the customers.

Added to this union government has said that they are slashed down the tax over the air conditioning facilities by 60% which makes it clear the user or the consumer would be charged with a 40% of the total bill amount. Hence the air-conditioned or air heated restaurants are required to pay service tax for whom the recently introduced GST would be applicable.

GST or the national service tax which was brought in by the Indian govt. on June 1, 2015 increased the rate of service tax to 14% and the tax rate is effectively 5.6% of the total amount charged. Earlier, when the service tax was 12.36%, the effective rate of taxation was 4.94%. Pulling the GST or national service tax by the prime minister Narendra Modi led BJP union government has made some of the very key and essential services such as railways, airlines, banking, insurance, advertising, architecture, construction, credit cards, event management and tour operators have made costlier.

Indian citizens now can pay the bills of the food being served in the restaurants with all  happiness and smile over their face who used to hesitate and left in ambiguity and confusion regarding the taxes applicable at a restaurant.
