The promise that was made by the AAP party (Aam Aadmi Party) that said Delhi will get free Wi-Fi services is going to be fulfilled by this year, the government of Delhi made an allocation for the promise in its budget for the year 2019-2020.
Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister said: “(Finance Minister Manish) Sisodia presented the last budget of this government as Delhi will have Assembly polls next year. We have promised (free) Wi-Fi facilities in our manifesto. That will be completed this year. Rs. 150 crore has been allocated for it.”
The Delhi Government will use hotspot as the source of the Wi-Fi, they chose it after going through all the available options.
Finance Minister Manish Sidodia said in his speech that “After studying various models, we are prepared to start this service for residents of Delhi next year.”
Finance Minister Manish Sisodia also added that the CCTV’s are going to be installed in this year too.
Finance Minister Manish Sisodia said: “Work regarding the installation of CCTV cameras in Delhi has been started. Rs.500 crore has been proposed in the budget for installation of approximately 1.4 lakh CCTVs (2,000 per Assembly constituency).”
