Zaira Wasim, Secret Superstar actor has garnered enough critical acclaim for her performances in the subsequent blockbusters Dangal and Secret Superstar. She was in attendance along with Aamir Khan for the 3rd and final T20I between India and Australia last month, and at the venue, she spoke about the sort of impact cricket skipper Virat Kohli has had on her while also branding Mary Kom as her favorite sportswoman.
At the occasion, she said Mary Kom is her favorite sportswoman and given an opportunity, she would like to play her on the silver screen.
In her words: “I am in love with Mary Kom ever since I have been involved with the Rotary Club. She is my favorite,” she said replying to questions by reporters at the announcement of the 11th edition of ‘Bengaluru Midnight Marathon 2017’. The 17-year-old, who is the Youth Ambassador for the marathon scheduled from December 16 to 17, also unveiled the theme for this year “Run to BEneFIT”.
Later, she was asked if she would prefer to play Kom’s role on the silver screen has already done a sports-based biopic earlier, Zaira said: “If it is happening (Mary Kom 3) I would love to do it.” The actress then branded Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is her favorite cricketer.
“I am in awe of Virat Kohli, and who is not? ” she said. Then, replying to a query about her future, Zaira said, “I don’t plan my future. I believe in destiny. I have realized in last three years, that whatever you plan, it does not materialize because destiny has its own plans.”
As of now, Zaira’s movie Secret Superstar, which also has Meher Vij, Raj Arjun, and Aamir Khan in pivotal roles, has minted another Rs 5 crore in its third week to take the total business to Rs 60 crores.
