Born in Cuttack, Odisha, Subhas Chandra Bose was born in a well-off family. Bose, who is also known as Netaji, was ranked as the number 2 in the matriculation examination and fourth in the Indian Civil Services examination. Mr. Bose quit his high-paying Indian Civil Services job and came back to India from England in 1921 to join the struggle of India to obtain freedom and independence from the long colonization of Britain. Initially, he became a member of the Indian National Congress, where he swore to help India to earn freedom.

He later formed the Azad Hind Fauj, a military that was formed to counter the British forces that were in India at that time. With his belief and aim to earn freedom, Subhas Chandra Bose inspired millions of people in India to join the struggle for Independence.
