Hudhud Cyclone is heading towards Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. HudHud Cyclone in vizag threatening everyone around. The people living in coastal areas and low-lying areas of Vizag(24,000 people), Vizianagaram(15,000), Srikakulam(46,000), East Godavari(160) districts of Andhra pradesh are shiftes to the safe places by the Goverment.
State disaster management authority, K Hymavathi told PTI in Hyderabad has said that 146 cyclone relief shelters are opened for the people.Visakhapatnam District Collector N. Yuvaraj told presspersons on Saturday morning that 40,000-50,000 people in low-lying, vulnerable coastal villages had been evacuated to relief camps and more would be evacuated if necessary. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams are being positioned in advance at vulnerable places to instil confidence among the residents. He said six national disaster response force (NDRF) teams had been deployed in the district. Other precautionary measures were being taken to minimize loss of life and property.
Government is Constantly Monitoring:
Home Minister Rajnath Singh Friday said that the government is constantly monitoring the progress of a cyclonic storm that is likely to hit Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. “Spoke to the chief ministers of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regarding their preparedness to face the fast approaching cyclone `Hudhud`,” the home minister said in a tweet.
Intensity of Hudhud:
The intensity of Hudhud on coastal areas in peaks wind blowing with a speed of 185kmph(as per the latest report)on the coastal areas. The sea water reached more than 1oo feet towards the villages in the sea shore. Tides are rising to a height of 1 to 2 meters. Fisher men who went for fishing are missing now, more than 45 boats has not retured to the shore yet. Family members of those fisher men so worried and waiting to see then eagerly. All the fisher men are advised to not venture into the sea because it is very dangerous.
At the time of landfall this terific HudHud cyclone there may be huge rainfall in the coastal reagion of Andhra Pradesh.Under the influence of the system, rainfall would occur at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and isolated extremely heavy falls would occur over East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam districts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh from tomorrow evening onwards, according to Central Water Commission forecast.
