Naa Bangaru Thalli {Telugu} Movie Receives an International Award

Naa Bangaaru Talli is a 2013 Telugu, social problem film released worldwide on November 21, 2014 with public funding. Based on a real life story, the film was written and directed by Rajesh Touchriver and star Siddique, Anjali Patil, Rathna Shekar Reddy,Lakshmi Menon, and Neena Kurup. The film was co-produced by M. S. Rajesh and Dr. Sunitha Krishnan, an internationally known anti-trafficking crusader. It explores the consequences of sex trafficking, testing the vulnerability of trust in human relations. The film was simultaneously produced in Malayalam as Ente.

The film received highly positive reviews, with awards such as Best Film at the Trinity International Film Festival in Detroit, and four Awards at the Indonesian Film Festival. At the 61st National Film Awards, Na Bangaaru Talli won three awards including the award for Best Feature Film in Telugu.

The Prestigious Nelson Mandela – Graca Machel Innovation Award  has been presented to Naa Bangaru Thalli on 24th November, 2014 at Johannesburg, South Africa. Naa Bangaru Thalli is directed by Rajesh Touchriver, husband of the producer. Rajesh Touchriver portrays real-life stories on celluloid. His subjects have been as diverse as the Sri Lankan civil war (In the Land of Buddha), and HIV (he made some short films on it). Human trafficking is the subject of his latest filmNaa Bangaru Talli made in Telugu and Malayalam.

Even the celebrities have been watching the movie and got inspired by the film. Recently Samantha has told that she has been crying by watching the movie. She also told that she is ready to do an offbeat film like this if story is ready. The actress says that she cried while watching the film. “It is a true story and people should encourage films of this kind,” “When I was watching the film I knew that she must have faced a lot of pain even off screen while enacting this character. She really worked hard.” Samantha also said that she wanted to work in an off-beat film. “Till now nobody has offered me roles of this kind. But before my retirement I want to do at least one realistic film,” says Samantha.
